by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (9/29/14) Giants cornerback Jayron Hosley is officially allowed to return to action after finishing off a four-game suspension.
However, the Giants were given a one-game roster exemption following Hosley's reinstatement, so he doesn't count against the 53-man roster. The Giants have until Oct. 6 to make a roster decision, according to NJ.com.
Giants DST forces six turnovers Thursday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (9/26/14) The Giants DST forced six turnovers Thursday against Washington.
Things started fairly early. On Washington's first drive, New York managed to sack Kirk Cousins. Cousins fumbled on the play, and the Giants recovered. The team would recover another fumble near the end of the second half. Both recoveries would lead to touchdowns.
In the second half, the team was able to get to Cousins. He had an abysmal second half, throwing four interceptions. The Giants DST was unable to return any turnovers for scores, but consistently put the offense in a good spot. New York also picked up two sacks during the contest.
The Giants DST will take on the Falcons Week 5.
Giants announce Week 4 injury report
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (9/24/14) Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham (hamstring) and linebacker Devon Kennard (hamstring) have been ruled out for Thursday's NFC East showdown with the Redskins. Linebacker Jon Beason might join Beckham and Kennard on the sidelines for Week 4 since he is being considered doubtful due to a foot/toe injury.
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (9/23/14) Giants safety Quintin Demps practiced with the first-team defense Tuesday and it appears he will replace Stevie Brown in the starting lineup at free safety Thursday at Washington after Brown was benched Sunday against the Texans.
"We're looking at all the possibilities. We're just trying to get better," defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said, per NJ.com. "It was an internal Giants decision [to make the switch] and I'll just leave it at that."
Coach explains why Stevie Brown was benched Sunday
"We made a position change there. That's all I'm going to say about that. He was not hurt," Coughlin said of Brown, per the New York Daily News.

The Giants DST used to be a standout Fantasy option, but they aren't even a No. 1 unit coming into this season. The Giants DST were No. 16 in Fantasy points in 2013 with 34 sacks, 17 interceptions, 12 fumble recoveries and three touchdowns. Getting Jason Pierre-Paul back at 100 percent will help after he battled through a shoulder injury last year, and having Jon Beason for a full season is also a benefit. The Giants also improved their secondary with the addition of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, which should make it tough on opposing quarterbacks with Prince Amukamara on the opposite side, but the key for this Giants defense is their pass rush. If Pierre-Paul is healthy then this unit can shine. Still, go into the season with the Giants DST as a No. 2 Fantasy option, and if they start off the season playing well add them off waivers.
