Calvin Pryor makes impact plays in preseason debut

Pryor recovered a fumble on a strip sack by Demario Davis in the second quarter. He finished with a team-high seven tackles (four solo) with a tackle for loss and a pass defended.
Ras-I Dowling exits game with groin injury

Calvin Pryor practicing, expected to play in game two
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (8/9/14) Jets rookie defensive back Calvin Pryor was able to practice Saturday, in the team's first session following Thursday's preseason opener, which he missed.
Pryor was out due to a concussion, but has been able to participate in practice in recent days. He took his reps with the second-team defense Saturday, and is expected to get plenty of playing time in the team's next preseason game, Saturday against the Bengals, according to ESPN.com.
Dimitri Patterson gets extra work in preseason opener
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (8/8/14) Jets defensive back Dimitri Patterson played the most snaps on the defense in Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts, as the team tried to get him reps at multiple spots on the field.
"For the most part, I've been at (outside) corner (during training camp), but they wanted to put me in and work some nickel reps," Patterson told The Star-Ledger after the game.
Patterson played 41 of the team's 64 defensive snaps, well more than the 26 the rest of the starters played. He spent much of his time in the second half working in the slot, to see if can do spot duty there during the season.
Patterson also downplayed concerns about a calf and ankle injury that has slowed him during training camp at times. He has played just 15 games over the last two seasons due to injuries.
"Nothing that should hold me back," he said. "These are all things that I can deal with and still play with. Nothing to really lose sleep over. In an ideal world, you want to feel great, but that's not going to be the case right now. Everybody is probably dealing with something. It's not that serious.”
Jermaine Cunningham suffers torn Achilles tendon

The 26-year-old has played in 38 career games, registering 3.5 sacks and 59 combined tackles.
