(11/3/14) The Redskins DST unit put together a couple of solid performances in a row heading into Week 9 against the Vikings, but couldn't keep it up in a 29-26 loss Sunday.
The Redskins gave up 352 yards of total offense and lost the game on the strength of three second half rushing touchdowns, and they failed to do much to slow the bleeding. The Redskins failed to force a single turnover in the game, and had just two sacks in the loss.

(10/28/14) The Redskins DST had one of its best performances Week 7 against Tennessee, but that was mostly because the Titans couldn't move the ball with backup Charlie Whitehurst under center. It faced a much tougher task against Tony Romo and company Week 8 at Dallas, but thanks to an unexpected pass rush, the Redskins DST ended up with 13 Fantasy points in standard CBSSports.com leagues for the second week in a row.
The Redskins recorded five sacks, as many as in their previous three games combined, and recovered two fumbles, one each by running backs DeMarco Murray and Joseph Randle. They limited he Cowboys to 17 points on 390 yards.
The Redskins are now tied for ninth in the league with 21 sacks, but of course, 10 of those came against the Jaguars back in Week 2. Despite impressing the last two weeks, they haven't been so reliable on defense this year. Still, with a favorable matchup Week 9 at Minnesota, the Redskins DST might just be worth a look in Fantasy.
