Lorenzo Taliaferro reaches paydirt vs. Cowboys
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(8/16/14) Ravens rookie running back Lorenzo Taliaferro led the team in rushing Saturday, gaining 59 yards on 16 carries and adding one catch for 10 yards in his team's 37-30 win over the Cowboys.

Taliaferro was the team's primary rushing threat in the second half, and he delivered a three-yard touchdown on the first drive after halftime. After leading all rookie backs in rushing yards last week, it's possible Taliaferro has begun to carve out a solid role for himself once regular-season hits.

Lorenzo Taliaferro shows off bruising style
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(8/11/14) Ravens rookie running back Lorenzo Taliaferro displayed his bruising style in the preseason opener against the 49ers, reports ESPN.com. His 71 yards gained, on 13 carries, led all rookie backs.

"It felt good to just get out there and bang around a little bit," the 6-foot, 226-pounder said. "It's always better when you're live, because a guy my size, that's all they speak about is can you get the ball downhill, can you go north and south, and you can't really do that too much in practice."

Taliaferro could be the go-to guy in short yardage and goal-line situations, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.

Lorenzo Taliaferro stars in second half of debut
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(8/8/14) Ravens reserve running back Lorenzo Taliaferro played well in his first preseason action Thursday against the 49ers, working mostly with the second team.

Taliaferro led the team in rushing, though he did not see the field until the second half. He rushed the ball 13 times for 71 yards, but did not add a reception to his line.

Taliaferro is buried on the depth chart at the start of the preseason, and will likely be limited to second half action for the most part. He was the team's fourth round pick in this year's draft.

Look for more screen passes from Ravens
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(8/6/14) Expect Ravens running backs Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce to catch more screen passes this season. New offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak wants quarterback Joe Flacco to release the ball quicker, and Kubiak plans to use the screen pass to that effect.

"I was telling [coach] John Harbaugh the other night: 'You know, I think we've got a chance to be a pretty good screen team," Kubiak told ESPN.com. "Our guards are not only big and physical, but they can get out and run."

The Ravens have called 123 screen passes since 2001, fourth-fewest in the NFL over that span, the website said. In addition to Rice and Pierce, running backs Justin Forsett and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro could benefit if Kubiak follows through on his plan.

Case against Lorenzo Taliaferro dropped
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/31/14) Prosecutors dropped a misdemeanor case against Ravens rookie running back Lorenzo Taliaferro, who was charged with destruction of property and being drunk in public, reports the Baltimore Sun.
