(7/21/14) The Chiefs will begin full-squad training camp on Thursday without running back Joe McKnight and defensive back David Van Dyke, reports ESPN.
McKnight (knee) and Van Dyke (hamstring) will begin on the physically unable to participate list. McKnight is a candidate to make the regular-season roster. With a strong showing both out of the backfield and as a kick returner, McKnight could win a spot as a backup to Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis.

(7/21/14) Chiefs coach Andy Reid said running back Joe McKnight had arthroscopic surgery on his knee after OTAs but before training camp. Despite that, he still has a chance to practice this week.
"He's made great progress and wants to be out there and he's pretty close," Reid said.
Reid also mentioned that cornerback David Van Dyke has a hamstring issue that the team is planning to ease him back from. Reid called him "a bit of a question mark."
