Rams hire Rob Ryan as DC: The Rams have hired Rob Ryan as the team's new defensive coordinator, according to a report from ESPN.com. Ryan, who interviewed Saturday, was rumored to have the job after being fired from the same position with the Cowboys at the end of the season. The Cowboys' defense ranked 19th overall, 17th against the run and 21st against the pass.

Ryan was dismissed from the Cowboys because his group could not generate any turnovers. After he was let go, he told reporters he would be out of work "for at least five minutes." Well, it took a bit longer than that, but Ryan will now try to implement his aggressive defensive schemes to St. Louis. He has used a 3-4 system nearly throughout his career in the NFL, which should continue with the Rams. The Rams were without their defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams, last season as he was suspended by the NFL for his role in the New Orleans Saints' bounty scandal. They still managed to rank 14th overall in defense in 2012, including 15th against the run and 15th against the pass. They will be viewed as a low-end DST option in Fantasy heading into the 2013 season.
