|(11/25/14) 49ers defensive end Justin Smith did not practice Tuesday due to a back injury, but defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters he'd be surprised if Smith missed Thursday's game against the Seahawks. Smith has 33 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles this season.

|(11/25/14) The 49ers have listed defensive lineman Justin Smith on the injury report with a back injury. 49ers announce inactives for Week 7 vs. Broncos
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(10/19/14) The 49ers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 7 matchup against the Broncos: cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder), guard Mike Iupati (concussion), linebacker Patrick Willis (toe), safety Jimmie Ward (quad), center Marcus Martin, wide receiver Quinton Patton and defensive end Tank Carradine.
Culliver and Ward received questionable designations on the team's final injury report, while Willis was already listed as out. Cornerback Tramaine Brock (toe) and tackle Anthony Davis (knee, ankle) are active after being listed as questionable.
Wide receiver Steve Johnson (hip) and tight end Vernon Davis (back) head the list of players who were listed as probable that are active in Week 7, a list that also includes cornerbacks Chris Cook (quad) and Perrish Cox (quad) as well as defensive linemen Justin Smith (not injury related), Ian Williams (ankle, shoulder) and Tony Jerod-Eddie (shoulder).
|Justin Smith is no longer a must-start defensive lineman in IDP leagues, but he is a good reserve or spot starter heading into this season. Smith had just 6.5 sacks and 49 total tackles (32 solo) in 2013. He now has just 9.5 sacks the past two years, and the 49ers continue to reduce his workload at 35 years old when the season starts. Smith will still be good for a handful of sacks, but he's only worth drafting with a late-round pick in deep IDP leagues this season.
