Falcons use back end of draft for D: The Falcons added Troy linebacker Jonathan Massaquoi, Mississippi State safety Charles Mitchell and South Carolina defensive tackle Travian Robertson with late picks in the NFL Draft. Massaquoi is considered a raw prospect who has some speed in his game, Mitchell might eventually be a good gunner on special teams and Robertson is a big body who could develop into a role player for the team. Fantasy Analysis
The Falcons improved their secondary before the draft with the addition of cornerback Asante Samuel, and they might have one of the most complete secondaries in the game with Samuel, Brent Grimes and Dunta Robinson on the staff. But their front seven is not complete; losing Curtis Lofton to the Saints hurts and questions about their aging pass rushers (John Abraham, Ray Edwards) will follow them through training camp. We consider the Falcons DST a No. 2 Fantasy option on Draft Day, and they are worth using as a starter in deeper leagues. If they start out the season playing well then add them in all formats as a starting option. (Updated 05/04/2012).
