| (12/23/12) The New Orleans defense was effective in containing one Dallas superstar during the teams' Week 16 matchup as the unit held running back DeMarco Murray to just 40 yards on 11 carries. However, the Saints were unable to slow wide receiver Dez Bryant, who torched the secondary for a career-high 224 yards and two touchdowns on nine catches, before escaping with a 34-31 overtime win. The robust total represented more than half of the yards recorded by quarterback Tony Romo (416) as New Orleans was unable to generate an interception. |
