Looks like Freeney's moving to LB: With the Colts opting not to trade veteran Dwight Freeney thus far this offseason, signs point to him staying with the only club he's ever known. That means an expensive salary for him this season, and it also means a position change. With the Colts moving to a 3-4 base defense, the team is going to ask Freeney to play as an outside linebacker. For me, it's just getting familiar with all those nuances, he told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "My line of sight, walking around (pre-snap), dropping into coverage -- I'm doing those things. It's going to take a little time at the beginning to get used to and as comfortable as I have been having my hand in the ground (at end) and being in one position." (Updated 05/07/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
The move to linebacker will be nice for the Colts but it hurts Freeney's Fantasy value. As an outside linebacker, Freeney isn't expected to put up the tackle totals that most middle linebackers do, and that means a limited amount of Fantasy points for him. If you're in a league that doesn't count tackles then he's OK as a No. 3 option. But if tackles count, Freeney's more of a late-round reserve choice. (Updated 05/07/2012).

Any time you rank the top 100 players in the NFL, there are bound to be questions. Will Brinson has 10 of them for Pete Prisco relating to things he thinks are slightly off about the list.
The Colts still have Dwight Freeney on the roster, and he'll continue to harass quarterbacks in 2012. Last year he had just 19 total tackles but 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles to go with it. That's about par for the course for Freeney, who is going to be asked to play outside linebacker in the Colts' 3-4 defense.
