Redskins run out of playoffs: Entering its NFC Wild Card clash against visiting Seattle, the Washington defense was focused on limiting quarterback Russell Wilson. The Redskins were able to relatively contain the dynamic rookie through the air, but were torched on the ground as Wilson racked up 67 rushing yards to deal Washington a 24-14 loss on Sunday. Wilson was part of a strong running game that gave the Redskins problems as the Seahawks racked up 224 total yards on the ground, including 132 by Marshawn Lynch. Washington did manage five sacks on Wilson, though. (Updated 1/6/13) |

Lynch also lost a fumble near the goal line during Sunday's game, but that was the only turnover the Redskins created -- the first time in the past five games Washington was unable to record multiple takeaways. The Redskins dealt with several injuries over the season, especially in the secondary, that resulted in their defense allowing an average of 24.3 points per game. They will welcome the return of linebacker Brian Orakpo next season and should be considered a decent DST option in deeper Fantasy formats for 2013. (Updated 1/6/13). |
