Anquan Boldin does little with six targets
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/15/14) 49ers receiver Anquan Boldin caught two of six targets for 34 yards in the Week 2 loss to the Bears. With Michael Crabtree fully healthy, Boldin has taken a back seat in San Francisco's passing game.

Boldin visits the Cardinals in Week 3.

Anquan Boldin leads the way Week 1
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/7/14) San Francisco wide receiver Anquan Boldin led the way Week 1 against the Cowboys.

Boldin proved to be Colin Kaepernick's favorite target. He caught eight balls for 99 yards during the game. He led the club with nine targets. While Boldin isn't thought of as a big-play receiver, he had the team's longest play of the game, picking up a 37 yard reception in the first quarter.

With the 49ers up by 25, Boldin didn't get many chances during the second half. Boldin had just three catches for 25 yards after halftime. Boldin also managed to come up with an onside kick recovery late in the game.

Boldin will take on the Bears Week 2.

Anquan Boldin looking for a repeat performance Week 1
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/4/14) San Francisco wide receiver Anquan Boldin is looking for another huge Week 1 performance against the Cowboys.

Boldin proved a lot of doubters wrong last season, posting his best yardage season since 2006. He was a huge part of the 49ers offense, picking up seven scores. Boldin’s impact was felt immediately last season, as he went for 208 yards and a touchdown in his first game with the club.

Boldin could be in for a repeat performance in 2014. The Cowboys boasted one of the worst defenses in the game last season. The team allowed 23.62 Fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. That ranked as the sixth-worst figure in the league.

Things could be even better for Boldin Week 1. After a quiet offseason, Michael Crabtree suddenly appeared on the injury report Wednesday. While Crabtree is expected to play, he could be a bit limited due to the issue. That could open things up for Boldin to dominate. Given the matchup, Boldin is a pretty strong start Week 1.

Anquan Boldin excited for 49ers offense
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/3/14) 49ers receiver Anquan Boldin said he's excited for the offense this year with Michael Crabtree coming back at 100 percent. Crabtree missed the first 11 games last year with an Achilles injury.

Boldin said in an interview with CBSSports.com that Colin Kaepernick now has all of his weapons back with Crabtree, Boldin and Vernon Davis. Quinton Patton is expected to take on a bigger role, and the 49ers have an excellent backfield with Frank Gore and the potential of second-year running back Marcus Lattimore, who is coming back from a devastating knee injury at South Carolina in 2012.

"It's going to be big," Boldin said of Crabtree being back. "It's going to be major for us. Toward the end of the season you were able to see a glimpse of what it's like to have me and him on the field at the same time, and then you have Vernon working out of the tight end position. And we have the young guy in Quinton Patton coming along. We were expecting him to play well. With all four of us on the field and Frank coming out of the backfield and getting Lattimore healthy, it's going to be tough. It's going to be a potent offense, and we're looking to make a run this year."

Anquan Boldin never expected to leave 49ers
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/3/14) 49ers receiver Anquan Boldin never thought he would leave San Francisco even though he was a free agent this offseason.

Boldin signed a two-year deal worth $12 million with $9 million guaranteed, and he never tested free agency.

"It was a place that I wanted to go back to," Boldin said in an interview with CBSSports.com. "I felt like during my one-year tender there everything fell into place. I was welcomed with open arms. It was a franchise that wanted me there. I fell into a great, great locker room. Some guys that really want to win. Guys that are hungry. Coaches that are hungry. And a fan base that is crazy. It was a place that my family loved as well. They had a great time out there. It was a good fit."

Boldin had a solid season in 2013 when he caught 85 passes for 1,179 yards and seven touchdowns. The catches were his best total since his last season in Arizona in 2009, his yards were his best since 2006 and he last scored seven touchdowns in 2010.
