Health a big issue for McGahee?
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/17/13) The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that Willis McGahee was cut by the Broncos in part because of health concerns. McGahee tore his MCL and broke his leg last season and had only a limited amount of reps in minicamp last week. The official team website reports McGahee was cut because the team wanted to get younger at running back. Saving salary cap space was also a benefit for the Broncos.

Broncos release McGahee
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/13/13) Less than 24 hours after Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase told the media the team wasn't going to "ignore" running back Willis McGahee, ESPN reported the team released him. "I knew it was going to happen. It is what it is. They are going younger," McGahee said. "I don't have anything against the people behind me. Now they have the opportunity. I wish them nothing but the best of luck. They're all good kids." McGahee, pushing 32 years old, is coming off a significant knee injury that sidelined him for the final two months last season and was set to make $2.5 million in 2013. McGahee said earlier this week that he's 100 percent now and has no restrictions running. He plans to keep playing. "There are a lot of places I wouldn't mind playing. You got Miami, Dallas, Green Bay, San Diego, Oakland. That's not necessarily my order of preference, though. All of those teams I mentioned I would go to with no problems," he said.

McGahee reports, says he'll start
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/11/13) The Denver Post reported running back Willis McGahee reported to Broncos minicamp, taking just a few snaps at practice. McGahee said family reasons kept him away from the Broncos during OTAs and that he realizes he could have cost himself some practice reps with the first-team offense by staying away. But he also realizes that the younger running backs, Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman, would have hogged plenty of playing time anyway. "I probably would have been behind the 8-ball anyway," McGahee said. "(It's) a younger group. Just being real, right? I can't worry about what those guys are doing. Those guys are talented. I like them. I like the way they run."

McGahee still not with team
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/4/13) The Denver Post reports that Broncos running back Willis McGahee is skipping Denver's voluntary OTA workouts to attend to some personal family matters. The report also says McGahee's knee injury from last season would limit his repetitions in practice anyhow. He is expected to show up for the upcoming mandatory minicamp, according to coach John Fox. "We do anticipate Willis will be here," Fox said.

Still no McGahee at Broncos OTAs
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/30/13) USA Today reports Willis McGahee is still a no-show at Broncos OTAs. It is assumed McGahee is working out in Miami; his agent said earlier this month he was following the same routine as in the past and that involves working out on his own.
