Carson Palmer can still throw down field
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (12:24 pm ET) New Cardinals coach Bruce Arians runs an offense that stresses throwing the ball down the field. He said Tuesday that quarterback Carson Palmer can still chuck it when needed. Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Arians said Palmer's deep arm strength is fine. His arm strength has come into question in recent years following elbow problems toward the end of his tenure in Cincinnati, but Arians is not concerned at all.

Fitzgerald loving Palmer's arm
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/7/13) Speaking to the Cardinals' official team website, receiver Larry Fitzgerald is sold on Carson Palmer as the guy to run the Arizona offense. The two have been working together pretty much since Palmer was traded to the team in early April. "There isn't a throw he can't make," Fitzgerald said. "He’s got great touch on intermediate passes, he can put zip on them, he can feather it in there. He’s got a tremendous arm. And he has the intelligence and experience to go out and make the plays. I've seen him do it. I mean, he threw for 4,000 yards in Oakland."

Arians: Palmer 'still has it'
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/20/13) Bruce Arians continues to heap praise on quarterback Carson Palmer, telling ESPN the veteran can still sling it. "He's tough as nails. As good a deep-ball thrower as I've ever seen. I mean really accurate on the deep ball. He still has it," Arians said. "What he did last year with the Raiders, in a crazy situation, I thought was very, very impressive."

Palmer digs Cards' playbook
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/24/13) Carson Palmer told The Associated Press he's a big fan of Bruce Arians' playbook. He said the Cardinals have installed about 75 percent of the offense from the playbook, but only ran about 5 percent of it during the first workout. Arizona has two more days of this voluntary minicamp and will get a better gauge during a mandatory minicamp in June. "It's very, I guess user-friendly would be the right word," the Cardinals quarterback said of Arians' system. "There's a lot on film to watch, plenty of texts in the playbooks and diagrams, pictures. It is easy to learn. It's not easy, but some systems you get in, it's difficult to learn because there's not a lot of history, but with this, there's a ton of history with this offense and this offense being successful, so it is an easy offense to get used to."

Palmer trade is official
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/2/13) The trade between the Cardinals and Raiders for quarterback Carson Palmer is official. The Cards will send a sixth-round pick to the Raiders for their seventh-round pick this year along with Palmer, plus the Raiders will get a seventh-round pick in the 2014 draft from the Cardinals if Palmer starts 13 games. Palmer had a so-so 2012, throwing for 4,018 yards over 15 games with 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
