Brackett says he'll be ready for 2012: Colts LB Gary Brackett had surgery three weeks ago to repair damage to his left rotator cuff. He was hurt in the season opener at Houston. Brackett, though, says he'll be ready for the 2012 season. "Things are going good. Everything got fixed," he said, adding normal rehabilitation takes about six months. (Updated 10/21/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
While Brackett is on track for the start of the 2012 season, even if he is healthy Fantasy IDP owners can't overlook the fact he hasn't played a full season since 2007. Injuries have limited his ability to remain a high-end Fantasy LB. Brackett has potential, but he will be nothing more than an injury-risk Fantasy LB next year. (Updated 10/21/2011).
09/23/2011 11:20 Into the deep for Week 3
If you're in a 14- or 16-team league, you know the options are fairly thin. Our Jamey Eisenberg provides some extra help in the form of Week 3 sleepers for Fantasy owners to consider in deeper leagues.
Gary Brackett will attempt to reclaim his title as the Colts' top tackler in 2011 after missing 12 games last year -- and at least two games in each of the last three seasons. The injury-plagued linebacker typically is good for 100-plus tackles when healthy and maybe some pass defense stats too, but turning 31 before the start of the season combined with the Colts' iffy defense in general, there's reason to not get excited over Brackett in 2011. Assuming tackles count, Brackett should be evaluated as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy linebacker worth a middle- to late-round choice. Sure, he might be very productive, but he also might be unreliable for 16 games. (Updated 5/2/11)
