Rams to part with Mikell: ESPN is among a number of sources reporting the Rams will cut safety Quintin Mikell. He would have counted $9 million against the salary cap. (Updated 3/11/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
Mikell has been a great source of tackles for several years and just had his first 100-total-tackle campaign in 2012, adding three sacks and four forced fumbles to go with it. He has seen a dip in passes defensed in two years with St. Louis but with his nose getting dirty stopping offensive players most Fantasy owners haven't seemed to mind. If Mikell lands on his feet he has value as at least a No. 2 Fantasy DB. (Updated 3/11/13). |
| Quintin Mikell is looking for a new team after he was released in March. He had a productive year in 2012, so he shouldn't be out of work long. Mikell had a career-high 101 total tackles (83 solo) with a career-high three sacks. The problem was this was the first time since 2006 he failed to get an interception. Still, Mikell now has at least 88 total tackles in each of the past five seasons. He should be around the same stats again this year, and we consider him a No. 2 defensive back in IDP leagues depending on where he plays. Plan on drafting him with a late-round pick in all formats.
