Preseason Outlook

RB Graham placed on IR: Buccaneers leading rusher Earnest Graham will miss the rest of the season after injuring his right ankle during last week's victory over the Vikings in Week 11. Graham limped off the field after his only carry against the Vikings. The Bucs said he hurt his ankle, but did not release specifics about the injury. With Graham out, Warrick Dunn moves into the featured tailback role.

Fantasy Analysis

By and large, Graham's Fantasy season was far from a waste. In 10 starts, he had 563 rush yards on 132 carries (4.3 avg.) with four touchdowns and two 100-yard games, 23 catches for 174 yards (7.6 avg.) and two fumbles lost in the same game (at the Chiefs in Week 9). He can be safely released from all seasonal Fantasy rosters at this point. Look to Warrick Dunn as the best fill-in for him, with other waiver wire stop-gap options including Peyton Hillis, Antonio Pittman and Pierre Thomas.

Bucs RB Earnest Graham finally got his chance to shine in 2007 following injuries to Cadillac Williams and Michael Pittman. With Williams still sidelined entering 2008, look for Graham to open the season as the starter. He has the ability to rush for 1,200 yards and double digits in touchdowns, and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. He will face some competition for playing time from veteran Warrick Dunn, who was signed in the offseason, and Williams, who will likely return during the year. But Graham proved himself in 2007 and signed a contract extension in late July, so the club has an invested interest in him. He is worth drafting as a No. 2 Fantasy option. Figure him to be taken between late Round 2 and early Round 4 in all leagues.
