Bowe's lofty goals might not happen
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/17/13) Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe said earlier this offseason that his goal is "to lead the league in receptions and touchdowns," but that didn't fly with the coaches in Kansas City, according to the National Football Post. The report says some of the coaches for the Chiefs "had to have a word" with Bowe about his stated goal. The report says they appreciate Bowe’s enthusiasm and ambition, but they want him to understand Andy Reid’s offense doesn’t work that way. Reid likes to spread the ball around to multiple targets and take what the defense gives them. The report adds Reid "won’t be looking to use Bowe the way the Lions use Calvin Johnson."

Bowe catching 'anything near him'
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/30/13) Alex Smith gushed about receiver Dwayne Bowe on Wednesday, telling the official team website that he's catching everything in sight during OTAs. "Dwayne is a really special player," Smith said of his new No. 1 target. "You can see it out here, making plays. Anything near him, he seems to come down with. That’s what you like as a quarterback."

Bowe has lofty goals

"I’m going to lead the league in receptions and touchdowns," Bowe said. "When we get in full gear and pads and close to the season, it’s going to be a show to watch." The report says Bowe is clearly fired up with the way the offense is headed after just two days of organized team activities.

Bowe's a fan of Reid's offense
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/22/13) Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe referred to new coach Andy Reid's offense as what he's "dreamed" about. Per the Kansas City Star, Bowe is thrilled he stayed with the team. "This offense is going to be up and running," Bowe said. "Throwing the ball deep, that’s something we haven’t done in the past so I’m excited right now. The play calling is totally different from last year. It’s not check downs or putting it in the running back’s hands. This guy likes to go down the field, take the top off (the defense) and that’s something we haven’t done in the past, put up a lot of points. This season he said we’re going to blow out the scoreboard and that’s something I’m looking forward to."

Bowe calls himself Top 5 WR
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/2/13) The Kansas City Star reports that Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe is high on his skills coming into the season after he signed a five-year deal worth $56 million. “Personally, I feel like I’m Top 5, most definitely," Bowe said. “My play shows it. Running (with) the ball, blocking, all the (qualities) of a wide receiver, I have. Whatever category people want to put me in, to me I’m always going to be number-one on this team, and that’s all that matters." New quarterback Alex Smith is impressed with Bowe. “I like what I’ve seen," Smith said. “Terrific player, makes big plays, physical receiver. He can make a lot of tough catches. I’m looking forward to working with him."
