NFL hands down bounty suspensions: The NFL announced multiple suspensions for two Saints defenders for their roles in the team's pay-for-performance/bounty program: Defensive end Will Smith has been suspended for four games and linebacker Jonathan Vilma has been suspended for the season. Two former Saints defenders -- Anthony Hargrove and Scott Fujita -- have also been suspended. The team was likely anticipating such a move, namely with Vilma, signing linebackers Curtis Lofton, David Hawthorne and Chris Chamberlain this offseason. Head coach Sean Payton has been suspended without pay for the 2012 season, ex-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is suspended indefinitely and interim head coach/offensive line coach Joe Vitt is suspended for six games.

Fantasy Analysis
The Saints were prepared for the loss of Vilma but losing Will Smith will hurt their pass rush, which is already considered tepid even with Smith (they had 33 sacks last year). New Orleans' defense isn't half bad except for their pass rush, which is a huge question mark. Fantasy owners shouldn't draft the Saints DST this summer; instead, check them out off waivers when you need a one-week replacement or longer during the season. We could see a lot of high-scoring games in New Orleans.
