Up to 80 catches for Bush?!: Lions coach Jim Schwartz told the official team website that new running back Reggie Bush could potentially catch "60-70-80" passes in 2013. Bush is expected to start and see significant playing time with the Lions after proving he could handle a sizable workload in Miami (over 200 carries each of last two seasons). "He's a very good open-field runner," Schwartz said of Bush. "Even though he did a good job with what Miami was asking him to do last year, that wasn't what he did best. You want to put players in the best position for them to show what they can do, the best position to effect the game, the best position to be able to make an impact on the game and help win the game and that’s what we plan to do with Reggie."

Fantasy Analysis
Over 31 games as the starter in Miami Bush averaged 4.67 yards per carry, proving he can be a primary back. He was also underutilized as a receiver in Miami, catching 43 and 35 passes in 2011 and 2012 respectively. We suspect those numbers will go up now that Bush is in Motown -- in the four years Scott Linehan has been installed as offensive coordinator Lions running backs have caught 89, 110, 86 and 103 balls. Bush should total close to 250 touches if he can continue to stay healthy, making him a pretty good find for Fantasy purposes. Ultimately Bush had 16 games out of 31 with Miami where he posted at least 10 Fantasy points, so if he signed with Detroit one could reasonably expect him to have a similar output in 2013. That would be enough to call him a No. 2 Fantasy running back worth a pick in Round 4 or 5.
