Giants hold Eagles to one TD: Fighting for a playoff berth, the Giants defense came up with a big performance Week 17 vs. Philadelphia. Unfortunately, their 42-7 win went for naught as the Giants were eliminated from postseason play. The Giants allowed just one offensive touchdown and 317 yards (110 rushing). New York picked off Michael Vick once and sacked Vick once as well. (Updated 12/30/12) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
The Giants defense needed to end the year on a high note after struggling the previous three games. New Orleans dropped 27 points on New York in Week 14, Atlanta managed 34 points Week 15 and Baltimore totaled 33 points Week 16. The Giants defense really had an up-and-down season and the secondary was arguably its biggest problem area. We know the Giants have talent on defense, but they play in a tough division and it won't get any easier in 2013. Consider the Giants DST more of a low-end Fantasy starter in drafts next summer. (Updated 12/30/12). |
| The Giants DST will have to replace plenty of talent as Osi Umenyiora, Michael Boley and Chase Blackburn will play for new teams this season. But based on who's left, the Giants are pretty good. Jason Pierre-Paul, Justin Tuck and Mathias Kiwanuka will handle the pass rush, and Antrelle Rolle will lead the secondary. The Giants should be considered a low-end starting DST option, and hopefully they can rebound from a poor 2012 season when they had just 21 interceptions, 33 sacks and 14 fumble recoveries. Plan on drafting the Giants DST with a late-round pick in all leagues. (Updated 4/26/13) |
