Daniels surges at finish line: Texans tight end Owen Daniels finished with a team-high nine receptions for 81 yards during Houston's 41-28 loss at New England in an AFC Divisional Playoff game Sunday. Daniels collected 15 targets from quarterback Matt Schaub -- also a team best -- as he posted nine catches for the second straight playoff game. During two games this postseason, he racked up 18 receptions for 172 yards on a whopping 26 targets.

Fantasy Analysis
Daniels shrugged off a cold stretch at the end of the regular season -- he failed to surpass 40 yards receiving over the last four weeks -- and proved he can remain a capable option in the Texans' passing game. It's certainly a welcome sign as the 30-year-old completed a turnaround season following three straight injury riddled campaigns. Daniels posted a career-high six touchdowns this year and re-emerged as a solid Fantasy option heading into the 2013 season. Target him in the middle rounds of drafts once the elite tight ends have been selected.
