|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(9/19/14) The Panthers listed three players from the defensive side of the ball on the injury report for Week 3 against the Steelers, but are expected to have all of them available for Sunday's game.
Defensive linemen Colin Cole (non-injury related) and Dwan Edwards (back), as well as linebacker Thomas Davis (hip) are all probable for Week 3.

(2/24/14) The Panthers restructured the contract of veteran linebacker Thomas Davis, creating $3.25 million in cap room this season, reports the Charlotte Observer. This is the fourth time in three years the team has renegotiatied with Davis due to his injuries or for cap reasons, the report said.

(2/21/14) The Panthers picked up the two option years for linebacker Thomas Davis' contract, reports Pro Football Talk.
The report says Davis will make $13.5M over next two years in 2014 and 2015. Davis had 123 tackles in 2013 (85 solo) with two interceptions and four sacks.
|Thomas Davis leads the way, gets to the backfield |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(11/24/13) Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis had another productive game in Week 12 against the Dolphins, though he didn't rack up an impressive tackle total. Davis finished the game with just six tackles -- all solo -- but added a sack, his fourth of the season, in the 20-16 win.
|Thomas Davis gets first interception |
|by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(11/3/13) Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, who was listed as probable coming into the game because of a shoulder injury, not only played Week 9 against the Falcons, but recorded his first interception of the season, diving to grab a deflected pass late in the third quarter. He also had seven tackles, including five solo.
Though Davis doesn't often contribute interceptions, he has three sacks on the year and is averaging 7.6 tackles per game.
|The bionic linebacker is looking for another solid season with the Panthers after Thomas Davis racked up over 120 total tackles last season. We've seen Davis step up in three straight seasons now. Is it enough to shed the "injury prone" sash that he previously wore? Probably not – despite his big year he also is getting up there in age as he'll be 31 when the season starts. On one hand, it's likely Davis has enough gas left in the tank to continue being productive. On the other, the older he gets the more likely he'll get hurt or become ineffective. If you play it safe and take him with a middle- to late-round pick, you're probably fine.
