| Dumervil inks with Ravens |
by Adam Moore | CBSSports.com (3/25/13) The Ravens agreed to terms with Elvis Dumervil on a multi-year contract, according to multiple sources. ESPN reports that Dumervil is expected to receive a five-year deal worth up to $35 million. Dumervil was set to stay with the Broncos when a fax snafu forced the team to release him before his contract would have been guaranteed. That opened the door for the Ravens to bring him in.

| Broncos forced to release Dumervil |
by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer (3/15/13) Defensive end Elvis Dumervil was released by the Broncos on Friday, despite reaching an agreement to return to the team. According to the Denver Post, Dumervil's agent didn't get a restructured contract signed in time, and the team had no choice but to release him. The Broncos didn't receive a fax of the signed contract until seven minutes after the deadline.

| Dumervil done in Denver? |
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer (3/12/13) The agent for defensive end Elvis Dumervil has asked the Broncos to release him after the two sides couldn't agree to terms on a new deal. Dumervil is owed $12 million this season and while he's been a solid player for the Broncos, the team doesn't want to spend its cap space on him. The salary doesn't become guaranteed until Saturday, so the Broncos have some time to make a decision. "We're at an impasse," agent Mike Magid told the Denver Post. "There's no animosity, whatsoever. Elvis understands this is a business. He loves the Broncos and he'd still like to come back and play for the Broncos under his current contract or restructure proposal that we sent them. But if we can't reach common ground and you know as an organization that you're going to release him, then we'd like for them to release him by (2) p.m. tomorrow and not wait another four days. No hard feelings. We just disagree on their restructure option."

| Broncos ask Dumervil to take pay cut |
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer (3/6/13) CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports the Broncos have asked defensive end Elvis Dumervil to restructure his $12 million contract or risk being released.
|
| Elvis Dumervil left the Broncos this offseason to sign with the Ravens. It should be a good move for him as he continues to prove he’s among the best pass rushers in the NFL. Dumervil had 11 sacks in 2012, which is the third time since 2007 he’s reached double digits in sacks (he also missed 2010 with a torn pectoral muscle). He also added 54 total tackles last year (32 solo) to go with a safety and six forced fumbles. Dumervil goes from working opposite Von Miller in Denver to working opposite Terrell Suggs, so he should continue to get plenty of one-on-one matchups. Dumervil should be considered a No. 1 defensive lineman in all IDP leagues. Plan on drafting him with a mid-round pick. (Updated 4/25/13) |
