Fantasy Analysis
Edwards is a key to the defensive unit, but he has just 30 tackles on the year. After Thursday he has 3 1/2 sacks to his credit. Fantasy owners in IDP leagues should view him as a low-end DL option. (Updated 12/16/2011).
03/23/2012 13:34 Draft team needs: Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons know how to win games. In the postseason, however, is a different story as they are 0-3 under Mike Smith. Pete Prisco says Atlanta needs to focus on improving both sides of the line in the draft.
Ray Edwards joined the Falcons last season and produced some of the worst numbers of his career. Playing in 16 games, Edwards had just 3.5 sacks and 33 total tackles with three passes defensed. Edwards had 8 and 8.5 sacks in the previous two seasons with the Vikings. Expected to remain a key part of the Falcons' pass rush, Edwards isn't a bad gamble to take late in Fantasy drafts, but no owner should be married to the idea of starting him every week either. He's at best a No. 3 option. (Updated 4/25/12)
