Flynn named starter for now: Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie told the media Tuesday that Matt Flynn would open OTAs as their starting quarterback, not second-year talent Terrelle Pryor. The two are expected to compete for the job in training camp but for now the newly acquired Flynn is in. "[H]e has all the intangibles," McKenzie said. "I think he can play the position. He can throw the ball and I think he's gonna be a solid quarterback. Now, how good can he be? We'll figure that out but he's got a chance to be a good, solid quarterback. He hasn't played a lot of games so that's what's ahead of him is to see what's ahead of him. He'll get in here, compete, and try to show his team and coaches if he can play. The coaching staff probably doesn't know. I'm probably the guy who knows him best and I feel good that he can play the position."

Fantasy Analysis
Fantasy owners best know Flynn for his last two starts against the Lions in 2011 and the Patriots in 2010 when he totaled nine touchdowns, 731 passing yards and two interceptions. Nice numbers, but he did it with the Packers and their awesome offense. The Raiders' receiving corps is a mess with Denarius Moore headlining a group littered with injuries and limited production. Furthermore, Flynn will battle Terrelle Pryor for the starting job in training camp. Last year we thought Flynn would come out of camp with the Seahawks job but wound up watching Russell Wilson take off as a rookie. If Flynn wins the job in Oakland, and we think he's got a good chance to do it, he still wouldn't be any better than a late pick in deep drafts.
