Flynn is Raiders QB 'right now'
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/29/13) Even as coach Dennis Allen touted quarterback Matt Flynn as "our starting quarterback as we go forward right now," the Contra Costa Times is impressed with rookie Tyler Wilson's throwing during OTAs. During drills Tuesday Wilson looked good in early drills until throwing some interceptions in red-zone work. Still, Wilson has shown a live arm while Flynn hasn't done anything to separate from the pack. It doesn't mean much, though, as Allen is fine with Flynn. "[U]ntil the competition dictates otherwise, that’s where we’re going," Allen said of Flynn as the starter.

Flynn named starter for now
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/24/13) Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie told the media Tuesday that Matt Flynn would open OTAs as their starting quarterback, not second-year talent Terrelle Pryor. The two are expected to compete for the job in training camp but for now the newly acquired Flynn is in. "[H]e has all the intangibles," McKenzie said. "I think he can play the position. He can throw the ball and I think he's gonna be a solid quarterback. Now, how good can he be? We'll figure that out but he's got a chance to be a good, solid quarterback. He hasn't played a lot of games so that's what's ahead of him is to see what's ahead of him. He'll get in here, compete, and try to show his team and coaches if he can play. The coaching staff probably doesn't know. I'm probably the guy who knows him best and I feel good that he can play the position."

Flynn's officially a Raider
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/1/13) The Seahawks announced Monday that they traded quarterback Matt Flynn to the Raiders in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2014 and a conditional pick in 2015. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora says Flynn has agreed to a re-worked contract with the Raiders. "I've known Matt Flynn since 2007 and scouted him before and after he entered the NFL," GM Reggie McKenzie said. "Matt is a tough football player, and a talented quarterback. He will get the opportunity to compete to be a starter with the Raiders."

Flynn headed to Raiders?
by Nando Di Fino \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/29/13) Quarterback Matt Flynn, who helplessly watched as Russell Wilson led the Seahawks to the playoffs last season, is expected to be traded to the Oakland Raiders, according to CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. Flynn would replace Carson Palmer, who is almost certain to not return in 2013.

Jags could trade for Flynn
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/27/13) CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that several NFL sources have identified Jacksonville as the most likely destination for Seattle backup quarterback Matt Flynn, and the Jaguars are among the teams to talk to the Seahawks about a deal. Buffalo and Oakland are also in the mix, and though things have progressed slowly, sources said a trade could materialize before the draft. Flynn was signed to a lucrative free-agent deal in Seattle a year ago but barely played last season while Russell Wilson emerged as a rookie sensation. The Seahawks have not hidden their desire to find value for Flynn and give him the opportunity to play elsewhere. Jags coach Gus Bradley knows Flynn from his time as Seattle's defensive coordinator. The Jags are looking for someone to push starter Blaine Gabbert, who has looked like a first-round bust to this point, and though they have veteran Chad Henne on the roster, the Jags are exploring other options, sources said.
