Vikings list lengthy injury report for Week 7
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(10/17/14) As expected, the Vikings have ruled tight end Kyle Rudolph (abdomen, groin) out for Week 7 at Buffalo. Other players ruled out on the final injury report were: linebacker Gerald Hodges (hamstring) and defensive end Corey Wootton (lower back).|
Meanwhile, defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (elbow, ankle) and linebacker Chad Greenway (hand, rib) were deemed questionable, while cornerback Jabari Price (hamstring), defensive tackle Linval Joseph (ankle), wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (hip), tight end Chase Ford (foot), safety Harrison Smith (ankle) and linebacker Michael Mauti (illness) were officially ruled probable for Sunday.
Vikings LB Chad Greenway could return Sunday

|(10/15/14) Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway, who's missed three straight games with broken ribs, returned to practice Wednesday and has a chance to play Sunday at Buffalo, reports ESPN.com.
Vikings fairly healthy as they prepare for Week 6 game
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(10/10/14) Only three injured Vikings are possibilities to be inactive for the Sunday game against Detroit. Included is tight end Kyle Rudolph, who has already been ruled out with an abdomen issue.
The others are linebacker Chad Greenway, who is doubtful with a hand injury, and safety Harrison Smith (ankle), who is questionable.
There are several big games among the probables, which include running backs Jerick McKinnon (ankle) and Matt Asiata (groin), quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (ankle), linebacker Michael Mauti (foot), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (elbow) and wideout Cordarrelle Patterson (hip).
|While the Vikings asked Chad Greenway to take a pay cut to stick around, Fantasy owners have remained happy with him for years. Greenway has posted at least 130 total tackles for four straight seasons with a handful of other defensive stats to go with it. That's all well and good but he did not have a good 2013 by any means and the team could push him down the depth chart (or off the roster) if he doesn't show any improvement early on. A new coaching staff doesn't mean he'll be considered a lock for the roster either -- they could draft a replacement. So despite the fact that he's been so productive, Fantasy owners shouldn't accept Greenway as a Top 20 Fantasy linebacker. We'd probably draft him with a late-round pick, thus minimizing any risk involved with drafting him to an important role for your roster.
