|(3/2/15) With Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway in the final year of his contract, general manager Rick Spielman said the team wants to bring Greenway back in 2015, reports the StarTribune.
Greenway is due to make $7 million in 2015, but he may have to take a pay cut to remain with the Vikings.
"We have a lot of things that we'll be working through between now and before March 10th, but we'd love to have Chad Greenway back and finish [his career] as a Minnesota Viking," Spielman said.

|(2/17/15) Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway is looking to bounce back after a difficult 2014 season. The 32-year-old missed the final game of the regular season with what he said was a strained MCL, according to ESPN.
"I'm just getting back into working out, starting back on my lower body," he said. "It feels good. I'd been taking some time off, but I have been testing it a little bit."
Greenway had his least productive season as a pro in 2014, recording 93 tackles, his lowest total in his career, and just one sack. He is entering the final year of his contract and is due a base salary of $7 million. Though they is speculation he will restructure the deal, Greenway is just controlling what he can.
"We're still under contract," Greenway said. "We'll just see what they say."
Chad Greenway hopes to continue his career with Vikings

|(12/29/14) Linebacker Chad Greenway said he expects to return for his 10th season in the NFL in 2015. However, whether or not his career continues with the Vikings remains to be seen.
Greenway said he would like to stay with Minnesota and indicated he is open to restructuring his contract.
"[It's been a] pretty good relationship for the most part," Greenway said. "You hope that you can make that work. Being a loyal guy myself, I just want to be able to do that. At the same point, you understand that it’s a business and you have to make the correct decision when it comes up."
Greenway has finished with 90-plus tackles in eight straight seasons. He has totaled 992 tackles in his career.
|While the Vikings asked Chad Greenway to take a pay cut to stick around, Fantasy owners have remained happy with him for years. Greenway has posted at least 130 total tackles for four straight seasons with a handful of other defensive stats to go with it. That's all well and good but he did not have a good 2013 by any means and the team could push him down the depth chart (or off the roster) if he doesn't show any improvement early on. A new coaching staff doesn't mean he'll be considered a lock for the roster either -- they could draft a replacement. So despite the fact that he's been so productive, Fantasy owners shouldn't accept Greenway as a Top 20 Fantasy linebacker. We'd probably draft him with a late-round pick, thus minimizing any risk involved with drafting him to an important role for your roster.
