Fantasy Analysis
Harper continued to be strong in reaching the quarterback and registering a career-high 7 1/2 sacks during the regular season. The 29-year-old, who shared the team lead for tackles on Saturday, also had 95 stops. Consider him a high-end option in Fantasy IDP formats. (Updated 01/14/2012).
05/24/2012 18:24 No Payton, no Brees? Hard to say it's no sweat for Saints these days
Sean Payton is serving his NFL-imposed exile. Drew Brees surprisingly remains in contract/holdout limbo. Larry Holder says nothing is routine as the Saints try to work toward the 2012 season and find their new normal.
Roman Harper was the Saints' top defender last season, but questions about how many games he'll be available to the team surround him this season. Harper is expected to be suspended for his part in the Saints' bounty program; no one's sure just how long he'll be out. But for a guy who had 96 total tackles, 7.5 sacks and seven passes defensed, he's a big part of Fantasy. Because there's a chance he'll miss a considerable amount of time, Harper shouldn't be drafted with anything other than a late-round pick until we know more about his situation. (Updated 4/24/12)
