Preseason Outlook

Holmes makes good impression: The New York Post reports that new Jets receivers coach Sanjay Lal has been impressed with Santonio Holmes so far this offseason. Lal said Holmes has been, “very eager, very football-hungry, very competitive.” And Lal is not the only one who has noticed Holmes’ contributions on the practice field. “He’s been great,” said tackle Wayne Hunter. “Santonio has been great. He’s been doing extra stuff that people wouldn’t believe. He’s been doing extra with Mark. He’s been doing stuff that he hasn’t done in the past. He’s been a team player, and it’s been a good change.” (Updated 05/18/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Holmes caught 51 passes for 654 yards (a career-worst 12.8 avg.) and eight touchdowns last year, posting 10 or more Fantasy points (standard scoring) in five games. Holmes hasn't been a stud since arriving in New York and with more guaranteed coin in his piggy bank, he might not ever reach the numbers he had in Pittsburgh in 2009 (1,248 yards).
