Howard done for the season: The Bengals' defense suffered an early blow Friday when the team placed linebacker Thomas Howard on season-ending injured reserve after he tore his ACL during practice on Thursday. "It was an unfortunate thing anytime a player like Thomas, a young talent, gets hurt. You have to move on. It’s a freak thing that happens," coach Marvin Lewis told the Cincinnati Enquirer.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Howard started 15 games after signing with the Bengals during the lockout last season and led the team with 99 tackles. He was also the team leader in stops during four of the last six games of the regular season while serving as the weakside linebacker. Fantasy owners should cast him to waivers now that he is out for the remainder of the 2012 campaign.
