Bolts lose Ingram to torn ACL: Chargers outside linebacker Melvin Ingram suffered a torn left ACL during the team's OTA practice in mid-May and is expected to miss the entire season. Ingram had 41 total tackles and one sack last season but put plenty of pressure on opposing quarterbacks, earning 29 quarterback hurries according to U-T San Diego. (Updated 5/15/13) |

Ingram was expected to be the primary pass rush threat in the Chargers defense; without him they're going to have a hard time getting to the quarterback. Former first rounder Larry English and Jarret Johnson will provide in Ingram's place and there's a chance the team could add another pass rusher before too long. The Bolts' chances of contributing in Fantasy have dwindled to being one-week options in Weeks 5 and 16 (see if you can figure out why). (Updated 5/15/13). |
| The Chargers DST played well in 2012, and they will look to build off that performance this season. The Chargers were a top-10 Fantasy DST last year with 38 sacks, 14 fumble recoveries, nine defensive touchdowns and 14 interceptions. While the overall stats were good, part of the reason for the success was an easy schedule. The Chargers had 10 games with double digits in Fantasy points in a standard league but three games with five points or less. They also had three huge games against the Chiefs (twice) and Jets with at least 24 Fantasy points in each contest. We expect the Chargers DST to continue to play well this season, and they are worth drafting with a late-round pick as your starting option. (Updated 4/26/13) |
