49ers run over by Giants: The 49ers entered the NFC Championship Game against the Giants with the best run defense in the NFL but they had a hard time slowing down the run on Sunday. San Francisco allowed 328 yards of total offense, including 150 on the ground, in the 20-17 overtime loss. While they were able to sack QB Eli Manning six times, including 2.5 by Ray McDonald, they were unable to pick him off. WR Kyle Williams also fumbled two kick returns in the defeat.

Fantasy Analysis
The 49ers sported one of the best defenses in the league throughout the year as they allowed the second-least points in the NFL during the regular season. Most of their success came from their front-seven, and they were even able to keep things going despite LB Patrick Willis missing time due to a hamstring injury. The unit in San Francisco is very young and athletic and should only get better with time. Consider the 49ers DST as a No. 1 Fantasy option on Draft Day in 2012.
