Merriman hopes to be ready for camp: Defensive end Shawne Merriman said he is doing well with his latest efforts to rehabilitate his Achilles tendon injury. Merriman said he's been "hitting the gym hard" for two months now; he underwent surgery in October. "It's hard to say what percentage I am right now, but I will be here working out probably with little restrictions, if any at all," Merriman said. He added that there is no specific timetable as to when he will return to 100 percent, but he hopes to be ready to go by training camp. (Updated 04/24/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Once a quality Fantasy option, Merriman can't be trusted given his long track record of injuries. Don't draft him unless you're feeling like burning your final-round draft pick. (Updated 04/24/2012).
05/21/2012 17:02 When comes to pass rush, left side is less left out now
The conventional wisdom had a bulkier end anchoring the left side of the defense with the pass-rush star on the right. Len Pasquarelli says Mario Williams' request to man the left side in Buffalo shows changing times.
05/21/2012 16:00 Bills go from 3-4 to 4-3 in measured fashion, and look formidable
Coaches love a defensive scheme and change. Via Bill Parcells, Pat Kirwan says disaster often ensues. Acquiring the right parts (and landing FA Mario Williams helps) first, then changing is the key, as have the Bills.
Shawne Merriman is expected to return to the Bills this year, but his Fantasy value is limited. Don't draft him based on name recognition since he's far from the player he was in his younger days with the Chargers. Merriman finished 2011 on injured reserve with an Achilles' problem after five games, and he has played in a total of 23 games over the past four seasons. If he gets off to a hot start then add him off the waiver wire, but he should not be drafted in the majority of leagues this year. (Updated 4/25/12)
