Packers QB Aaron Rodgers tosses three touchdowns Week 7

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers turned in another dominant effort, and a result, he sat out a portion of the final quarter in a comfortable 38-17 Week 7 victory over the Panthers at home on Sunday.

Rodgers got off to a fast start, hooking up with Jordy Nelson for a 59-yard strike on the opening drive. In the second quarter, he found Randall Cobb for a 3-yard score. He found rookie Davante Adams for a 21-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Rodgers compiled 255 yards through the air while completing 19 of 22 attempts. He added three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked twice and finished with a 154.5 passer rating. He rushed for 21 yards on three carries. He has 18 touchdowns and one interception through seven games.

Green Bay will travel to New Orleans for a showdown against the Saints in Week 8.

Packers' McCarthy: I've seen Aaron Rodgers play better

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/16/14) Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn't thrown an interception since Week 1 and has the best touchdown-to-interception ratio (15 to 1) in the NFL. He's thrown at least three touchdowns four times and has Green Bay riding a three-game winning streak heading into Week 7 vs. Carolina.

Despite a fairly strong start from Rodgers, coach Mike McCarthy indicates there might be even more room for improvement.

"I've seen him play better," McCarthy said, per ESPN. "I just think one thing from the standard that he's set and all the little things he's done at a high level, he's got a lot of good football in front of him. I mean, the way we're taking care of the football, the big plays and timely plays -- exceptional. No doubt about it. It's not really as much his individual performance I'm referring to. It's our focus this week offensively is we were not clearly as efficient as we want to be after six games. So that's a focus of ours, and it's part of the way we spent our time here the last couple days."

Don't go crazy for Davante Adams

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/14/14) For a team's third wide receiver to have significant value in Fantasy, that team's passing attack has to be pretty explosive. Green Bay's typically has been with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is having a banner year with 15 touchdown passes to just one interception.

And yet in three of Rodgers' six games this season, he's thrown for less than 200 yards. As a team, the Packers rank only 20th in passing yards per game. That's not my idea of explosive.

Certainly things could change. Eddie Lacy has failed to give them much of a running game, which could cause them to go more pass-heavy in the weeks ahead. But more than anything, the reason third wide receiver Davante Adams performed so well Week 6 at Miami, catching six passes for 77 yards, was because co-No. 1 Randall Cobb didn't. Rodgers threw for a modest 264 yards. Unless he goes for a consistent 300, you can't expect Adams to make a regular contribution in Fantasy in his current role.

So in standard leagues of 12 teams or fewer, I'm leaving him on waivers. For the list of wide receivers Jamey Eisenberg is adding over him, check out his latest Playing the Waiver Wire.

Packers' Aaron Rodgers scores game-winner in final seconds of Week 6

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/12/14) Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was dialed in on Sunday, showing some fourth-quarter heroics in a come-from-behind victory over the Dolphins in Week 6.

Rodgers went 5-for-5 passing and hooked up with Jordy Nelson for a 9-yard touchdown strike in the opening drive of the game. In the third quarter, he found Randall Cobb for a 5-yard score. Down four points, Rodgers led his team to an 11-play, 60-yard drive which resulted in a 4-yard touchdown to Andrew Quarless with three seconds remaining in the game to give Green Bay the victory.

Rodgers compiled 264 yards through the air while completing 24 of 42 passes. He added three touchdowns and no interceptions, registering a 99.7 passer rating. He was sacked three times and rushed for 34 yards on seven attempts in a 27-24 victory. He has 1,419 passing yards to go along with 15 touchdowns and one interception on the year.

The Packers will host the Panthers in Week 7.

Packers' Aaron Rodgers cruises past Vikings with three TDs

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/3/14) Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers became the 38th quarter in NFL history to reach 200 career touchdown passes, moving past Phil Simms on all-time list on Thursday against Vikings in Week 5. Rodgers reached the mark in his 99th game, making him the second fastest in NFL history to reach the milestone (Dan Marino, 89 games).

Rodgers found Randall Cobb in the end zone for an 8-yard strike in the first quarter. On the ensuing drive, he fired a 66-yard play action pass for a touchdown to Jordy Nelson. He threw an 11-yard dart down the middle to Davante Adams for a touchdown late in the second quarter. With the game well in hand, Rodgers was pulled for Matt Flynn early in the fourth quarter. He compiled 156 yards through the air while completing 12 of 19 passes. He added three touchdowns and no interceptions in a comfortable 42-10 victory. he was sacked twice and finished with a 138.7 passer rating.

Rodgers has 1,155 yards and a 12-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio through five games. The Packers will travel to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 6.
