Giants' Coughlin wants Antre Rolle back at right price

|(2/19/15) Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Thursday that the team would like to retain free-agent safety Antrel Rolle depending on his asking price, NJ.com reports.
"We'd like him to come back," Coughlin said, adding, "obviously we do have financial restrictions involved."
Rolle struggled last season in the final year of his five-year deal after being named to the Pro Bowl in 2013, but Coughlin indicated that the safety brings more value that just his work on the field.
"He's an outstanding young man and really I've never come across a player that was more interested in his team and trying to help his team be better in any way they could," Coughlin said. "I think countless Tuesday's Antrel was in my office with, 'How can we get better? What can we do to get better?' Just thoughts going back and forth between coach/player, in terms of how our team could improve. I don't think I was ever involved with a player that was more sincerely interested in how his team could improve. And I admire that very much in him as a young man and a leader."
The team will likely prioritize the safety position this offseason, with Rolle joining veterans Stevie Brown and Quintin Demps as free agents.

|(2/12/15) Ravens safety Will Hill is hoping for a former teammate to join his squad once NFL free agency begins.
On his Instagram account, Hill posted a collage with four pictures of himself and cornerback Antrel Rolle when they were with the Giants. In the middle is a rectangular box with the Ravens logo in the middle.
"if thing go the way I want me and big bro will be reunited," Hill wrote.
Rolle, 32, didn't have a strong 2014 season and thus may not be an attractive option for the Ravens. Rolle finished the past season with 87 tackles and three interceptions.

|(2/11/15) Impending free agent safety Antrel Rolle, who's started every game the last five seasons for the Giants, is eager to return to the team in 2015.
“I want to go back to the Giants for the fact I feel like I still have work to do,” Rolle told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "No matter how good or bad the season may have been for myself, you know, we’ve got one championship and I feel like that’s not enough. I feel like there’s more, obviously there’s more in the tank and more I need to provide as far as my services with that organization to try and help them win another title.
“I don’t like to leave anything undone and I feel like my time there is undone for whatever reason. I don’t know why I feel that way but it’s just the way I feel. If, God forbid, it doesn’t happen, then obviously I’m a man. I know that this league is a business and I don’t try to take anything personal. That for me, right now, that’s what my mindset is.”
Rolle, 32, had 87 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble last season.

|(11/28/14) The Giants have ruled out offensive lineman Adam Snyder (knee), defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins (calf) and linebacker Jacquian Williams (concussion, shoulder) for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka (knee) and tackle Justin Pugh (quadriceps) were the only two players deemed questionable.
Meanwhile, linebacker Jameel McClain (knee), safety Antrel Rolle (rest) and offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz (toe) were designated as probable for Week 13.
|Antrel Rolle continues to prove that he's a must-start defensive back in all IDP leagues. Rolle had another big season in 2013 with a career-high 98 total tackles (80 solo), a career-high six interceptions and a career-high two sacks. He also added a fumble recovery and a career-high 12 pass defenses. Rolle has been above 90 tackles each of the past three seasons, and he has 10 interceptions over that span. He is worth drafting as a No. 2 defensive back in all IDP leagues with a late-round pick.
