05/18/2012 14:07 Report: Jets sign S Yeremiah Bell to 1-year, $1.4 million deal
The Dolphins unceremoniously dumped Yeremiah Bell in March. On Friday the 34-year-old safety signed a one-year, $1.4 million deal with the Jets, multiple outlets are reporting.
Eric Smith had a career year in 2011, and he's hoping to build off that this season. Smith had a career-high 89 total tackles (66 solo) last year to go with one interception, one fumble recovery and 2.5 sacks. The key for Smith was he started 14 games, and he should remain the starter at safety again for the Jets. He is not worth drafting in the majority of IDP leagues, but he could be a reserve or bye-week replacement in deeper formats. (Updated 4/25/12)
