Spencer signs franchise tender: ESPN reports that the Cowboys announced that linebacker Anthony Spencer signed his franchise tender at $10.6 million on Tuesday. Spencer, who was given the franchise tag for the second year in a row, led Dallas with 95 total tackles and had 11 sacks in 14 games last season.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Spencer finished as a Top-30 linebacker, but barely. The good news is that the Cowboys look like they're headed to a 4-3 scheme under new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. With Spencer now staying with Dallas he'll likely be transitioned to the defensive line. That would give him added value as a DL in Fantasy. Count on that happening and plan on drafting him with a mid-round pick.

| Anthony Spencer had a career year in 2012 with 11 sacks and 95 total tackles (55 solo). It helped him earn the franchise tag for the second year in row, and Spencer will be playing for a new contract. Duplicating the double digits in sacks will be difficult, but Spencer will benefit with the expected move from linebacker to defensive line in the new 4-3 scheme the Cowboys will run.
