Stanton goes back to backup
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/2/13) After all of coach Bruce Arians' comments about how he was comfortable with Drew Stanton as his starting quarterback, the coach has someone else to go with. On Tuesday the Raiders and Cardinals finalized a trade that sent Carson Palmer to the desert where he will likely start ahead of Stanton.

Arians leaning toward Stanton?
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/20/13) In an interview with CBSSports.com at the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix on Wednesday, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he would like to name his starting quarterback "tomorrow," but he knows that's not realistic -- especially since he might not have that quarterback on the roster. But Arians did indicate he's "quite comfortable with Drew Stanton," who could be the early favorite to win the job. "I have a history with Drew Stanton," Arians said. "If I name him the quarterback then I’ll feel real comfortable that he’s our guy."

by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/18/13) Speaking on NFL Network Monday, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he'd be fine going with Drew Stanton as his starting quarterback this season. Stanton signed with the Cardinals this offseason after backing up Andrew Luck in Indianapolis, where Arians was the offensive coordinator. "Drew knows the offense, he is more than capable of doing it. If he is our guy, I am comfortable," Arians said.

by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/13/13) Bruce Arians has signed another friendly face, adding Drew Stanton with a three-year deal, Stanton's agent announced Wednesday. The quarterback worked with Arians last year in Indianapolis and figures to compete for the starting job with the Cards. "This is a great opportunity for Drew," Arians said. "He really impressed me during the year we spent together in Indy. Physically he has everything you want in a quarterback – big with a strong arm, can get it up the field and make all the throws. He’s just as impressive mentally and understands the position. I’m excited to get him here and compete."
