Stanton to remain a Lion: ESPN reports that the Lions agreed to hold on to QB Drew Stanton for at least another year, as he wanted all along. The one-year deal keeps him around as a emergency backup to Matthew Stafford, who has had several injuries limit his development. Stanton was able to start a trio of games for Detroit last season, finishing with 780 yards on 119 attempts. He threw four touchdowns against three interceptions while in the mix.

Fantasy Analysis
Shaun Hill still figures to be the backup in Detroit once the season starts, but Stanton has seen plenty of action as the No. 3 QB before. He was able to win in two of the three starts he made, so the team won't hesitate to roll with him if the top-two signal callers go down, as they have done frequently in recent years. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the QB scenario out of camp in Detroit, though Stanton should remain on the waiver wire in all formats after Draft Day.
