Rams DST drops season finale
(12/30/12) The Rams DST put forth a solid effort on Sunday but lost the regular-season finale at Seattle. The Rams DST held Seattle to 362 total yards in the game but the Seahawks came from behind to earn a 20-13 win. The Rams DST did not force a single Seattle turnover in the game but did rack up six sacks of quarterback Russell Wilson. Chris Long had three of those sacks for the Rams.
Rams hope to slow Seattle
(12/25/12) The Rams DST heads into the season finale Week 17 at Seattle with a very tough task ahead of them. First of all, the Rams have been eliminated from playoff contention while Seattle is firmly entrenched in the postseason. Plus, the Seahawks have scored 58, 50 and 42 points, respectively, in their last three weeks. No defense, not even San Francisco's, has been able to stop Seattle recently.
Rams have a pick party
(12/23/12) The Rams defense took advantage of a struggling quarterback Week 16 at Tampa Bay, intercepting Josh Freeman four times and returning one (via Janoris Jenkins) for a touchdown. They also had five sacks, including two by William Hayes, and a fumble recovery. The Buccaneers ended up accumulating 429 yards on the day, but they scored only 13 points.
Rams cautious of Bucs QB
(12/20/12) Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman might have thrown a season-high four interceptions Week 15, but that hasn't stopped Rams coach Jeff Fisher from being very complimentary of the fourth-year quarterback heading into their Week 16 showdown. "There should be nothing but optimism with Josh because I think he has a tremendous future ahead of him,'' Fisher said. "He has all the tools. It's not easy to play the position week in and week out, especially when you face some defenses you're not used to seeing. But he's a very talented athlete and quarterback who makes good decisions. So there's really no need for frustration.'' The Rams will face a Tampa Bay team ranked 13th in total offense (358.9 yards per game) and 10th in scoring offense (25.3 points per game).
Rams defense a Week 15 dud
(12/16/12) The Rams, who had surrendered an average of 14.0 points and 331.7 yards in their previous three games, weren't quite as successful at stopping the visiting Vikings in Week 15. They gave up 33 points on 322 yards, including 212 to running back Adrian Peterson. They contributed only two sacks and didn't force a single turnover.
