Wendling racks up tackles: Lions defensive back John Wendling had a strong game in Week 2 against the 49ers, as he finished with nine tackles -- eight solo -- in a 27-19 loss. He very nearly earned a 15-yard penalty in the game, as he hit 49ers quarterback Alex Smith with a forearm to the helmet as he was sliding on a scramble. The hit left Smith with a cut on his nose, but Wendling avoided a penalty.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Wendling has mostly worked in a reserve role for the Lions over the past three seasons, but their secondary has been hit hard by injuries, forcing him into a larger role. He has very little value beyond being an injury fill-in in most Fantasy IDP formats.
