|Steelers unveil final round of preseason cuts |

(8/30/14) The Steelers announced their final round of cuts to trim the roster to 53 players Saturday, as they parted ways with 22 players.
The Steelers released defensive backs Isaiah Green, Dayonne Nunley, Shaquille Richardson and Ross Ventrone, linebackers Chris Carter, Howard Jones and Dan Molls, and defensive linemen Ethan Hemer, Josh Mauro, Roy Philon and Nick Williams on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, the team cut tight ends Rob Blanchflower, Bryce Davis and David Paulson, running backs Josh Harris and Stephen Houston, wide receivers Derek Moye and Lanear Sampson, offensive linemen Graham Pocic, Will Simmons and Guy Whimper, and quarter Brendon Kay.

(3/17/14) The Steelers re-signed offensive tackle Guy Whimper, who played in 10 games last season. Whimper got a one-year deal and was signed for depth.
|Four Steelers probables should play Week 9 |

(11/3/13) Steelers G Ramon Foster, DT Steve McLendon, LB Lawrence Timmons and OL Guy Whimper are active Week 9 against the Patriots.
Foster had been dealing with a concussion, but was cleared to play. McLendon's issues were related to an illness. Timmons has a hand injury, but it's not considered serious. Whimper had a knee issue.

(11/1/13) The Steelers released a Friday injury report that is dominated by probables. Among them are quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and tight end Heath Miller, both with not injury-related issues.
The others are guard Ramon Foster (concussion), defensive tackle Steve McLendon (illness), linebacker Lawrence Timmons (hand) and tackle Guy Whimper (knee).

(10/29/13) Steelers coach Mike Tomlin gave updates Tuesday on the three offensive linemen who suffered injuries Week 8 at Oakland.
Tomlin said Ramon Foster has been cleared to practice after suffering a concussion and should be good to play Week 9 at New England. Tomlin also said Guy Whimper, who suffered a hyperextended knee, should be good to play Sunday.
As for David DeCastro, who suffered an ankle injury, Tomlin said he will be limited early in the practice might and his status for Week 9 remains uncertain.
