Eagles secondary gets deeper: Revamping a secondary that posted one of the worst statistical seasons in recent history clearly is a top priority for the Eagles. The team signed cornerback Cary Williams and safety Kenny Phillips on Thursday. (Updated 3/15/13) |

Williams agreed to a three-year deal, and is coming off a big season with the Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens. He started all 16 games, posting four interceptions and 67 tackles. Phillips comes to Philadelphia after five seasons with the rival Giants. The 26-year-old Phillips had four interceptions and 72 tackles in 2011 as New York won the Super Bowl. Phillips has battled knee injuries throughout his career. Phillips will probably compete with Nate Allen to start alongside Chung. (Updated 3/15/13). |

Bucs taking major risk with Revis
Trading for a shutdown corner is one thing. Trading for a shutdown corner coming off an ACL and paying him a big contract is another. That's what Tampa Bay is doing by acquiring Darrelle Revis.

2013 NFL schedule: Vegas releases Week 1 betting lines
The Super Bowl champion-Ravens are heavy underdogs in Denver in Week 1, just like they were in last season's divisional playoffs. The LVH SuperBook released lines for all Week 1 games, and Ravens-Broncos drew the most action. Bettors jumped on Baltimore getting 9.5 points, moving the line to 8.5.

| The Ravens turned to Cary Williams to start last season and he wound up being the Ravens' top cornerback. But now he's on the Eagles and will be a part of the team's switch to a 3-4 scheme. Williams has consecutive seasons with at least 75 total tackles and 17 passes defensed but last year racked up the first four interceptions of his pro career (five seasons), returning one for a touchdown. With the opportunity to start for the Eagles, expect Williams to be productive in 2013. We'd play it safe and call him a No. 2 Fantasy DB worth a mid- to late-round pick. (Updated 4/26/13) |
