Fantasy Analysis
Woodley has 39 tackles and nine sacks in his nine games this year, but injuries continue to hamper him. Despite him posting good numbers when on the field, Woodley is not a recommended option in Fantasy until he proves to be healthy. (Updated 12/24/2011).
04/01/2012 14:12 Draft team needs: Pittsburgh Steelers
Salary cap and other (Rashard Mendenhall, Hines Ward) casualties are making this a semi-anxious offseason in Pittsburgh. But Clark Judge says the Steelers will fill holes, regroup and chase another AFC North title.
LaMarr Woodley didn't finish with great numbers in 2011, but that's because he didn't have the chance. In 10 games the linebacker totaled nine sacks, 39 total tackles, two passes defensed and an interception. If he had six more games to work with, he might have challenged some of his career-highs. If you're in a league that doesn't reward tackles, Woodley should be considered a No. 1 linebacker worth an early- to middle-round pick. But if tackles count, then other linebackers should come before Woodley in Fantasy, making him at best a low-end No. 2 Fantasy LB worth no more than a middle- to late-round pick. (Updated 4/24/12)
