| Special teams lifts porous Broncos defense |
| (1/12/13) The Broncos provided little resistance against the Ravens Saturday, in the Divisional round of the playoffs. The Ravens picked up 474 yards of total offense in the game, and the Broncos allowed them to scored 28 points on offense. Fortunately, the Broncos made up for that a bit thanks to the splendid play of Trindon Holliday, who became the first player in NFL history to score twice in a playoff game on returns. Holliday scored on a 90-yard punt return and a 104-yard kickoff. The Broncos still lost the game, 38-35. |

Kansas City quarterback Brady Quinn threw for just 49 yards and was sacked four times. The Broncos were unable to cause a turnover, however, in the victory. |

| (12/28/12) The Broncos enter Week 17 against the Chiefs with one of the better defenses in the NFL. Denver ranks third in the league against the run, giving up 91 yards per game, and seventh in pass defense. Kansas City ranks fifth in the NFL running the ball, putting up over 153 yards per contest, but 31st in passing. |
| Broncos sack Browns |
| (12/23/12) The Broncos DST allowed 12 points on 233 yards of total offense in Week 16 against the Browns. The unit was able to hold Cleveland to just 141 yards passing on the day and even knocked out starter Brandon Weeden with a shoulder injury. | Broncos looking to slow down Browns |
| (12/21/12) The Broncos DST will be looking to slow down Trent Richardson and the Browns in Week 16. Cleveland enters the contest ranked 26th in total offense, averaging 319.6 yards and 20 points per game. The Broncos DST is ranked fourth, in terms of Fantasy points, after racking up 42 sacks and forcing 23 turnovers on the season. The unit has also accounted for a eight touchdowns, which is tied with the Bears for most in the league. |
| The Broncos DST was among the best in all leagues in 2012, and the unit should continue to dominate this year. The Broncos have a standout pass rusher in Von Miller and a ballhawking secondary that accounted for 16 interceptions. The Broncos DST also scored eight touchdowns, with two coming on special teams from Trindon Holliday, and they were among the league leaders at just 18 points per game on average. The best thing about the Broncos DST is their schedule since they get six games against rebuilding offenses in Kansas City, San Diego and Oakland. We consider the Broncos DST a No. 1 option, and they are worth drafting as the top unit in all leagues with a pick beginning in Round 11 or 12. (Updated 4/25/13) |
