Griffin gets franchise tag: The Titans decided to apply the franchise tag on free safety Michael Griffin on Monday, not cornerback Cortland Finnegan. Tennessee now has a window of eight days to negotiate with Finnegan before free agency begins on March 13. At the combine, general manager Ruston Webster said he expected negotiations to go down to the wire. (Updated 03/05/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Griffin's numbers were down in 2011 as he totaled 75 tackles with seven passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumbles. Nearly all of his non-tackle stats were half of what he had in 2010 and his tackle numbers were down by 33 total. Griffin has the obvious potential to be a No. 1 Fantasy DB but should probably be drafted more like a low-end No. 2 option. Sticking in Tennessee should help. (Updated 03/05/2012).
