Falcons want to watch Turner's reps: Falcons head coach Mike Smith told the media at the NFL Combine on Saturday that he intends to keep running back Michael Turner as his featured back in 2012, but that the time has come to start keeping an eye on just how much work he gets from week to week. "We want to keep him as our feature back, but we need to make sure we give some of the other guys carries as well," Smith said. "I think the thing we have to do as Michael gets a little older is to start putting him on a pitch count in terms of the numbers of carries."

Fantasy Analysis
We could see the Falcons giving Turner a limited amount of snaps in practice and tweaking his role in games, but he should still be a big factor. He's had double-digit scores for four straight seasons and has over 1,300 rush yards in three of the four. But he also has 300-plus carries in those three 1,300-plus-yard seasons, and the Falcons have to watch that number. He also seemed to struggle down the stretch in 2011, scoring just five times and having three 100-yard rush efforts in his final 11 games including the playoffs. We could see Turner getting 10-plus touchdowns again but the rushing yardage might be closer to 1,000 than 1,300. We'd take Turner between 10th and 18th overall in standard formats and between 25th and 40th overall in PPR formats. Also, backing up Turner with Jacquizz Rodgers starting in Round 9 is a very wise idea.
