Preseason Outlook

Ward finds pay dirt Week 10: Houston RB Derrick Ward found pay dirt in the Week 10 victory in Tampa Bay. Ward wasn't a major factor on offense as he rushed the ball 11 times for 36 yards in the game. That said, Ward was given the ball late in the third quarter and he scored from 4 yards out to give the Texans a 30-3 lead at the time over the Buccaneers. Ward did not make a catch in the game. Fantasy Analysis
Ward scored his first touchdown since Week 1 of the season and found the end zone for the first time since Ben Tate emerged as a viable backup and help for Arian Foster. The touchdown was nice, but it is not an expected outcome on a consistent basis. Ward is not really a viable Fantasy start and should be avoided in all leagues and formats for Week 11 as the Texans are on a bye. They return Week 12 at Jacksonville. (Updated 11/13/2011).
