|Vance Wilfork has game-clinching interception |
|by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(9/21/14) Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork was in the right place at not only the right time, but also the best possible time Week 3 against Oakland. With the Raiders on the verge of scoring a game-tying touchdown with about a minute to play in the fourth quarter, a pass intended for Denarius Moore was deflected off two Patriots defenders and into a diving Wilfork's arms for a game-clinching interception.
It was the third interception of Wilfork's career. The other two came in 2011. He finished Week 3 with three tackles, including one solo.
|Vince Wilfork practicing without limitations |

(7/24/14) Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who's coming back from a ruptured Achilles, looked good during the team's first practice and said he's working without restrictions.
"If I had limitations, I wouldn’t be practicing," Wilfork told the Boston Herald. "My job is to help my teammates the best way I can, whatever that may be. The only way for me to help my teammates is to be on the field and be healthy. Right now, I’m on the field and I’m healthy. If anything happens in the future, I can’t predict that. But right now my job is to help this team the best way I can and get better each day and that’s what I’m going to do."
|Vince Wilfork 'moving well' |
|by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(6/12/14) Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who is coming back from last year's ruptured Achilles, was able to take part in full-team workouts Thursday, reports ESPN.
The report says Wilfork "looks to be moving well, as we noticed him pushing off hard and exploding forward to put pressure on the left side of the offensive line." Wilfork didn't participate in the full practice, but it seemed like a significant step.
"Just seeing him back out there is a very, very big asset. It’s great," linebacker Dont'a Hightower said. "Having him in front of you is like a big force field, especially being a linebacker, but for the team as well."
|Vince Wilfork able to work |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(6/6/14) Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork participated in half of Thursday’s workout, a good sign as he comes back from a torn Achilles’ suffered last September, reports the Boston Globe. Wilfork is not participating in team drills but is expected to be ready for the season opener.
|Dominique Easley a good pick for Pats, bad for Fantasy |
|by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(5/9/14) Dominique Easley was an interesting choice by the Patriots, but Fantasy owners shouldn't be so piqued. For starters, Easley has torn each of his ACLs and is still recovering from one last September. If he's ready to start the season he'll still be behind veterans Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly on the depth chart and might not play much.
But the most important factor to Fantasy owners is the lack of stats that defensive tackles typically get. It would take a banner year from Easley to make an impact in Fantasy. Until things start to look like they're coming together for him, Fantasy owners shouldn't indulge. We'd pass on him in seasonal and long-term formats.
|Vince Wilfork will return to the Patriots this season after he agreed to a three-year contract extension in March. He is coming off an Achilles injury, and we expect him to make a full recovery. Wilfork is a key player for the Patriots defense, but he has minimal Fantasy value in IDP leagues. Wilfork is more of a run-stuffer than anything else and doesn't produce enough stats to help your Fantasy team (he has 16 career sacks, for example). Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
