Chargers place Floyd on IR: The Chargers announced Tuesday that wide receiver Malcom Floyd was placed on season-ending injured reserve. U-T San Diego reports Floyd suffered a high ankle sprain during Week 15 against the Panthers and did not have enough time to recover before the end of the season. Floyd finished the season with a career-high 56 catches for 814 yards and five touchdowns.

Fantasy Analysis
After dealing with injuries for much of his career, Floyd remained relatively healthy for owners in 2012, that was until he injured his ankle Sunday. This has to be a disappointing blow to owners that were still competing in their respective Fantasy playoffs as he had been a viable option for much of the year. Danario Alexander will likely see a boost in his production down the stretch as a result. Owners in season formats should feel free to part ways with Floyd but the 31-year-old remains a decent option in keeper leagues.
