|Aaron Dobson heads list of unavailable Patriots |
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
(7/21/14) Patriots receiver Aaron Dobson will start training camp on the PUP list as he continues to rehab from March foot surgery. Also on the list are defensive tackle Tommy Kelly (knee), cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder), special teams standout Matthew Slater and receiver Jeremy Gallon.
In addition, first-round defensive lineman Dominique Easley will start camp on the Non-Football Injury list as he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered at Florida last season. Joining him on that list are running back Roy Finch, linebacker Deontae Skinner and offensive tackle Chris Martin.
|Dominique Easley a good pick for Pats, bad for Fantasy |
|by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(5/9/14) Dominique Easley was an interesting choice by the Patriots, but Fantasy owners shouldn't be so piqued. For starters, Easley has torn each of his ACLs and is still recovering from one last September. If he's ready to start the season he'll still be behind veterans Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly on the depth chart and might not play much.
But the most important factor to Fantasy owners is the lack of stats that defensive tackles typically get. It would take a banner year from Easley to make an impact in Fantasy. Until things start to look like they're coming together for him, Fantasy owners shouldn't indulge. We'd pass on him in seasonal and long-term formats.
|Patriots select Dominique Easley at No. 29 |
|by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(5/8/14) With the No. 29 pick in the NFL Draft, the Patriots selected defensive tackle Dominique Easley from Florida.
Easley, who is 6-foot-2, 288 pounds, suffered two ACL tears in college. He came back from a left ACL tear in 2011, then blew out his right ACL last September.
When healthy, Easley has exceptional quickness, constantly playing on the other side of the line of scrimmage. He will provide the Patriots defense and Patriots DST with depth as a rotation player behind Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly.

|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(2/25/14) Patriots defensive tackles Tommy Kelly and Isaac Sopoaga are candidates for restructured contracts or outright release, reports the Boston Globe. Kelly counts $2.6 million against the cap this year, Sopoaga $3.5 million.
|Tommy Kelly lands on injured reserve |
|by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com|
(11/2/13) The New England Patriots have placed defensive lineman Tommy Kelly on injured reserve Saturday due to his knee problem. His season is officially over, the team's official site confirms.
Kelly suffered a setback after practicing earlier in the week prior to the Week 9 game against Pittsburgh Sunday. He finishes with 22 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks over five games played for the Patriots defense.
